Vibeke Harper is a Norwegian conceptual artist, writer, and translator, based in Oslo (Norway) and Ramallah (Occupied Palestine). She has translated the texts by Ali Abu Yassin and Atef Abu Saif to norwegian, and has also conveyed their works to Norway.
Her work explores Western identity, narrative – and hypocrisy, through subjects such as land and human rights, power structures and hierarchy. The Israeli settler-colonial occupation of Palestine – and the Norwegian / Western facilitation of it – has influenced her life and work for the past 15 years.
Harper is the Co-Artistic Director of the artivism collective Motforestillinger (Counteract) in Oslo, and a member of the Advisory Board at TAQS Theatre School in Ramallah. She is currently finishing a BA in Aesthetics at the University in Oslo.
